Bankruptcy Pre-filing Counseling: As an approved EOUST pre-filing bankruptcy counseling agency, our certified counselors will provide an overview of the new Bankruptcy Law and provide the required pre-filing bankruptcy counseling session. Credit and Budget Counseling:  Confidential counseling is free and is available to anyone who would like to take advantage of the service.  Face-to-face counseling is available by appointment in the office.  Phone counseling is also available. Counselors work with clients to set a budget based on income, expenses, debts, priorities and goals.  A review of the clients’ credit situation is also included.  When appropriate, an action plan is created to help clients move toward a more positive financial future.  Open and print our handy Budget Worksheet Word document (100KB) or .PDF document (50K)

Housing Counseling:  This type of counseling is beneficial for first-time homebuyers and those seeking help with resolving or preventing mortgage delinquency.  Pre-purchase counseling can benefit anyone considering the home purchase process.
Debt Repayment Plans:  These plans are available to those who choose to participate and are determined by their credit counselor to have the ability to repay debt through the plan.  Counselors work with clients and the clients’ creditors to develop a sound plan to repay debt. Our Debt Repayment Plans (also referred to as Debt Management Plans) are voluntary programs that serve the dual purpose of helping you repay your debts and helping creditors to receive the money owed them.  Clients pay a small setup fee and monthly fee while participating in a Debt Repayment Plan.

Most of our funding comes from voluntary contributions from creditors who participate in Debt Management Plans (“DMP”).  Since creditors have a financial interest in getting paid, most are willing to make a contribution to help fund our agency.  These contributions are usually calculated as a percentage of payments you make through your DMP—up to fifteen (15%) of each payment received.  However, your accounts with your creditors will always be credited with one hundred percent (100%) of the amount you pay through us and we will work with all of your creditors regardless of whether they contribute to our agency.

Credit Report ReviewCredit reports and credit scores remain a mystery to the average consumer.  CCCS can help.  A knowledgeable counselor will review the credit report with the client.  Clients are advised how to dispute credit report inaccuracies and what actions can be taken to keep credit scores as high as possible.  There is a $20 fee for this service.
